In today’s digital world, our eyes work harder than ever. Long hours spent on smartphones, computers, televisions, and other digital screens can contribute to eye strain, dryness, tired eyes, headaches, and difficulty focusing.
Alongside regular eye examinations and professional medical care when needed, healthy visual habits, relaxation techniques, and gentle eye exercises may help support eye comfort and overall eye wellness.
Eye problems are not caused only by excessive screen use—they can affect people in many different ways. We support natural eye care for concerns such as Glaucoma, Squint, Lazy Eye (Amblyopia), Myopia, Astigmatism, high power, low vision, and more. Our natural eye exercises and holistic eye-care methods are designed to support healthier visual function. With regular practice and proper guidance, these methods may help improve eye comfort and visual abilities.
Discover a natural approach to caring for your eyes and supporting healthier vision.
At Amar Eye Yoga & Nature Care Center, the focus is on natural eye-care exercises designed to encourage relaxation, healthy visual habits, and greater awareness of eye health.
What Is Eye Yoga and Eye Exercise?
Eye yoga and eye exercises are simple practices that involve controlled eye movements, focusing techniques, blinking, and relaxation. They are generally intended to reduce eye strain, improve visual comfort, relax the muscles around the eyes, and encourage healthy screen-use habits.
Eye exercises may include activities such as:
Palming to rest and relax the eyes.
Near-and-far focusing to practice shifting focus between different distances.
Controlled eye movements such as looking up, down, left, right, or in circular patterns.
Conscious blinking to help maintain the eye’s tear film, especially during prolonged screen use.
The 20-20-20 rule, where you look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes of screen use.
Eye yoga can be a useful relaxation and eye-comfort practice, particularly for people who spend long hours using computers and smartphones. However, it should not be presented as a proven replacement for glasses, prescribed treatment, or professional eye care. Evidence does not establish that eye exercises can reliably correct refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism.

Why Is Eye Care Important Today?
Digital devices have become part of everyday life for students, professionals, business owners, and even young children.
When concentrating on screens for long periods, people may blink less frequently. This can contribute to symptoms associated with digital eye strain, including:
Dry or irritated eyes
Tired or heavy eyes
Temporary difficulty focusing
Headaches
Neck and shoulder discomfort
Increased visual fatigue after prolonged screen use
Building healthier screen habits can therefore be an important part of protecting everyday eye comfort.
5 Simple Eye Yoga Exercises for Eye Relaxation
1. Conscious Blinking
Blink slowly several times while allowing your eyes to relax.
Regular blinking helps spread tears across the surface of the eyes and can be particularly useful during prolonged screen use.
2. Near and Far Focusing
Choose an object close to you and focus on it for a few seconds. Then shift your attention to an object farther away.
Repeat gently several times without forcing your eyes.
This exercise provides a break from continuously focusing at one distance, especially when working on computers or mobile phones.
3. Gentle Eye Movements
Without moving your head, slowly look:
Up → Down → Left → Right
You can then gently move your eyes in a circular direction.
The movements should always feel comfortable. Stop if you experience pain, dizziness, or unusual discomfort.

4. Palming for Relaxation
Rub your palms together until they feel warm.
Close your eyes and gently cup your palms over them without pressing on the eyeballs. Relax for approximately 30–60 seconds while breathing normally.
This simple relaxation practice can provide a pleasant visual break after extended periods of close-up work.
5. Follow the 20-20-20 Rule
For every 20 minutes of screen use, look at something approximately 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
This is an easy habit to incorporate into work or study sessions and helps give your eyes regular breaks from continuous near focusing.
Healthy Habits for Better Eye Care
Eye wellness goes beyond exercises. Your everyday habits matter too.
Try to maintain appropriate screen distance, use comfortable lighting, take frequent screen breaks, blink regularly, spend time outdoors where appropriate, eat a balanced diet, sleep adequately, and schedule regular comprehensive eye examinations.
Children and students who spend significant amounts of time studying or using digital devices should be encouraged to develop healthy screen habits early.
Can Eye Yoga Cure Eye Conditions?
It is important to distinguish eye relaxation and wellness exercises from medical treatment.
Eye yoga should not be presented as a scientifically established cure for conditions such as myopia, cataracts, glaucoma, keratoconus, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal disorders, or other eye diseases.
People diagnosed with an eye condition should continue following the advice and treatment provided by their ophthalmologist or qualified eye-care professional.
Natural wellness practices may be explored as complementary habits when appropriate, but they should not replace prescribed medicines, corrective lenses, surgery, monitoring, or professional medical care.
